Aeromedical Services

Loyola University Health System's (Loyola) emergency medical program helicopter, LIFESTAR, is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to care for critically ill or injured patients within a 200-mile radius of Chicago.

LIFESTAR will transport trauma patients as well as critically ill burn, cardiac, neonatal, pediatric, transplantation, and high-risk obstetrical patients. In addition, LIFESTAR is used to transport organs for Loyola's heart, heart-lung, liver and renal transplantation programs.

LIFESTAR accepts requests only from authorized individuals and agencies, including physicians, hospital personnel, emergency ambulance services, law enforcement agencies, fire departments, and industrial representatives.
