Sports Medicine

The sports medicine program at Loyola provides specialized medical and rehabilitative services to individuals with sports-related injuries. Specialized care also is provided for female athletes. The program stresses early intervention, accurate diagnosis and proper treatment. These elements are essential to returning you to optimal pre-injury condition.

A team of health-care professionals provides comprehensive treatment through all stages of care. The medical team includes orthopaedic surgeons, registered nurses, dietitians and hand, spine, foot and ankle physician specialists. The rehabilitation team includes licensed physical therapists as well as certified athletic trainers.

Loyola’s sports medicine specialists are experienced with the latest methods of cartilage restoration. These specialists serve as team physicians for the Loyola University Chicago basketball team, provide coverage for regional high schools and colleges and have worked with the U.S. Olympic Committee.
