Employee tells story of dad's heart transplant at Loyola

Liann Ross, a Loyola employee, recalls when her father became the 142nd patient to receive a heart transplant at Loyola.

Before the surgery in 1989, Liann's father had been very ill and was close to death. But immediately after the transplant operation he announced "I can breathe so much better." Liann's father lived another 16 years because of that transplant.

Her family was very aware that her father's life was saved by a donor who died in a car accident. She talks about what the donor and donor's family went through, and how much her family owes to them.
