Breastfeeding benefits you and your baby in many ways, physically as well as emotionally. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends breastfeeding for the first year of a baby's life. Loyola offers a range of including a breastfeeding class.
The class covers:
- Health benefits of breastfeeding
- Body changes during breastfeeding
- How to breastfeed
- Common breastfeeding problems and their remedies
- Use of breast pumps
- Breast milk storage
- Continuing breastfeeding while working outside the home
This class is recommended during last trimester of pregnancy. The 1.5-hour session is taught by an internationally board-certified lactation consultant.
Class fee includes a breastfeeding book.
