Eligibility

Participants must be older than 18 and have a confirmed diagnosis of Stage 0, 1 or 2 breast cancer. Participants must fill out a health history and undergo a physical exam, blood tests, chest X-ray and bone scan, if necessary. They must also undergo a chest/abdominal and a pelvic CT if any malignant nodes are found. In addition, they must go in for a mammogram.

Purpose

The purpose of this study is to compare two approaches to radiation therapy: One therapy would entail a higher daily dose during the course of three weeks with a boost given on each day of radiation therapy. The other therapy would entail standard whole breast radiation followed by a boost given on separate days extending over the course of six to seven weeks.
