Colon and Rectal Surgery

Loyola’s experienced team of colon and rectal surgeons treat a variety of problems of the colon, rectum and anus ranging from benign conditions, such as hemorrhoids, to cancers.  In addition, they provide advice on cancer screening for average-risk individuals and those who are at higher risk because of pre-existing conditions or a strong family history.  Our surgeons use a multidisciplinary approach and are skilled in state-of-the-art techniques, such as laparoscopic surgery and transanal endoscopic microsurgery.  As an academic medical center, our faculty members educate and train medical students and surgical residents. They are also actively engaged in research that leads to better treatments and patient care. Surgeons throughout the community turn to our surgeons for further training and continued education through courses on our campus and at regional and national meetings.
