Faster recovery from kidney tumor with Loyola's robotic surgery
Dr. Gopal Gupta, a urologic cancer surgeon, talks about how treatment of kidney cancer once meant the whole kidney would have to be removed. But now with robotic surgery, surgeons can save the affected kidney, reduce healing time and pain.
Patient Edward Johnson, who was diagnosed in 2011 with a cancerous tumor on his kidney, talks about the care he received at Loyola University Health System. Because of this new treatment, he was able to keep both of his kidneys.
