Loyola offering advanced options for hearing loss
Patients appreciate advances in hearing aid technology
Loyola audiology patient Jeanine Jelinek talks about how she was missing out in many social situations, with friends, relatives and business associates. She had not had a full checkup for eight years.
During her complete checkup, she realized how much hearing aids had advanced greatly during that time. With the device she has now, she can adjust it to different settings: one-on-one conversations, a loud restaurant, business meetings. She can also plug directly into a computer for webinars.
Janet Nickels, a Loyola clinical audiologist, said many patients don't realize how much the technology has advanced. They are more powerful now but also much smaller and discreet.
