WHAT: Loyola Center for Fitness will offer Aqua Arthritis, a pool class designed by the Arthritis Foundation specifically for relieving arthritis pain and stiffness. The class allows arthritis sufferers to exercise without putting excess strain on joints and muscles.
“Exercise is one of the best ways to control pain and improve function. These classes allow arthritis sufferers the opportunity to get the benefits of exercise in a comfortable, low-impact environment,” said Val Walkowiak, medical integration coordinator at the Loyola Center for Fitness.
Arthritis sufferers will gain strength and flexibility as a trained instructor guides the class through low-impact exercises in a warm-water environment.
