Biography
Kathleen A. Ward, MD, FACR: Dr. Ward is Medical Director of Women’s Health Imaging and Medical Director as well as Section Chief of Breast Imaging at Loyola University Health System. She holds the academic title of Associate Professor of Radiology at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. Dr. Ward received her MD degree from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine and completed her residency in Diagnostic Radiology as well as fellowship training in Computed Tomography and Ultrasound at Loyola University Medical Center. A fellow of the American College of Radiology, she is past president of the Chicago Radiological Society, the Illinois Radiological Society, and the American Association for Women Radiologists and currently serves as Illinois Councilor on the Executive Council of the American College of Radiology as well as manuscript reviewer for the American Journal of Radiology. In honor of her outstanding service to radiology, Dr. Ward was recognized with the 2012 Chicago Radiological Society Gold Medal for Distinguished Service. In addition, she serves as Site Principal Investigator for the ACRIN I-SPY 2 clinical trial investigating multiparametic MR imaging markers for measuring response to targeted treatment of locally-advanced breast cancer with neoadjuvant chemotherapy.
