Loyola Expands Hepatology Services to Park Ridge

MAYWOOD, Ill. – Loyola University Health System (LUHS) has expanded its hepatology services with physicians now available at the new Loyola Hepatology Clinic in Park Ridge.

Eric Kallwitz, MD, assistant professor of medicine, Hepatology, now sees patients at the Loyola Center for Health at Park Ridge, 1030 W. Higgins Road.

"Patients in Park Ridge can now receive comprehensive liver-care services from a Loyola liver specialist without having to travel from their hometown,” said Larry Goldberg, president and CEO, LUHS. “Loyola has a national reputation for specialized care and we are pleased to offer clinics throughout Illinois."

Dr. Kallwitz specializes in general hepatology, fatty liver disease, transplant hepatology, endoscopy and viral hepatitis. In addition to the Park Ridge location, Loyola offers specialists in liver care in Moline, Peoria, Rockford, Burr Ridge, Homer Glen, Elmhurst and Maywood as well as in the Dearborn Station building in the Loop and Chicago’s Chinatown neighborhood.

Dr. Kallwitz received his medical degree from Rush Medical College of Rush University and completed a residency in internal medicine at University of Chicago medical center. He completed fellowships in gastroenterology, hepatology and transplant hepatology at the University of Illinois Medical Center. Dr. Kallwitz is board certified in internal medicine, gastroenterology and transplant hepatology.
