Volunteer Opportunities

We have a long history of community outreach and below are some of the opportunities to continue this outreach. We encourage residents to work in solidarity to understand our community and grasp the realities of their social situations and how these factors effect patient health. By participating not only in specialty specific medical care, but also education and community programs our residents will gain understanding of the social determinants of health and that “All medicine is Social Medicine and all Health is Global Health.”

All residents who are active in other activities or projects are welcome to share and develop their programs, please contact Dr. Kevin Boblick, Kevin.Boblick@lumc.edu to expand the current list and recruit more colleagues.

Catholic Charities Community Building

We have partnered with Catholic Charities and will present monthly health topics at St. Mary of Celle in Berwyn and  St. Blasé Parish. Join with fellow residents and students in presenting topics and Q&A with attendees.

Ronald McDonald House

Come with Loyola colleagues to provide a meal from the heart.  “The meals you provide bring love into the Ronald McDonald House every day, allowing families to unwind, de-stress, and fortify their bodies to be at their best for their child in the hospital. Meals from the Heart volunteers work as a group to plan a menu, purchase the ingredients, and prepare the meal in our full service kitchen, allowing families to find nourishment and comfort in a shared meal.”
