Welcome to a New Loyola

Welcome, not only to the Loyola Medicine Web site, but to a new Loyola. In the past year, Loyola University Health System has seen a significant amount of change and growth. You may have seen some of these changes as well: our plan, pending state approval, to assume governance of Gottlieb Health Resources in Melrose Park; the opening of two new ambulatory sites – the Loyola Center for Children’s Health at Oakbrook Terrace and the Loyola Center for Heart & Vascular Medicine at Park Ridge; and passage of our survey by the Joint Commission with flying colors, among other numerous important accreditations.

Our focus is on the future of our health system, and to that end we recently completed our comprehensive strategic plan. Our mission is to provide the best possible health care for today and tomorrow:

  • Excellence in clinical services that also treat the human spirit
  • Educating tomorrow’s health-care professionals in the tradition of service
  • Research that improves human health in our community and around the globe

At the heart of these three core goals is care for you. By focusing on the needs and preferences of you and your family, we’re taking our mission of also treating the human spirit to the next step in our vision of patient- and family-centered care.
