Specific to Loyola patient care issues, a one-hour CE series, "Lunch and Learn", is offered during the week and provides education on topics that nurses encounter with all populations of patients. Multi-disciplinary and nursing speakers address issues related to evidence based care.
These programs are video taped and provided as a "Breakfast and Learn" for the Night Shift. Departments may request these videos for viewing on their respective units. Nurses also have the opportunity to attend CE conferences offered by the Continuing Medical Education Department.

All of our nurses can advance up the Clinical Ladder, designed to recognize professional development for nurses who prefer to remain in direct patient care.Continuing Education
At Loyola we offer a variety of CE offerings for registered nurses and professional staff. These programs are open to nurses and student nurses from surrounding institutions. All day and half day continuing education programs are developed to meet the needs of each service line and their patient population.
