Loyola Medicine is always looking for volunteers who are willing and able to enhance the health care experience by providing support and comfort to patients, families, visitors and staff. Gottlieb's Volunteer Program builds and enhances meaningful connections, caring relationships and positive engagement within our health care community. We champion diversity, equity and inclusion, and promote the importance of a comforting and engaged patient experience for all. Volunteers add a unique and personal dimension to fulfilling our mission in treating the human spirit.

General Volunteer Requirements

  • Have a genuine concern for patients and families.
  • Volunteers must be 18 years or older.
  • Ready to commit two to four hours per week (no more than eight).
  • Maintain consistent attendance.
  • Participation in Orientation, Training, and in-service programs.
  • Adherence to all Loyola Medicine policies & procedures.

  • Reference letter awarded after 104 hours of service or 60 hours for Junior Volunteers.

Gottlieb's volunteer onboarding experience introduces you to Loyola Medicine and the community you will serve while also preparing you for your role. Please note that the volunteer application process may take a few weeks. We appreciate your patience and understanding throughout the process.

First Steps

  2. After you submit your application, please email Volunteer Services to schedule a virtual interview.
