About

Providing excellent, compassionate, evidence-based, personalized care to my patients is my primary objective as an Otolaryngologist. This level of care requires involving my patients in their care, and often collaborating with colleagues in other specialties at Loyola Medicine.

As an Academic Medical Center, Loyola Medicine is on the cutting edge of medicine, medical education, and healthcare delivery. On a daily basis, I enjoy working with my staff and other specialists to care for patients, and I also find joy in every opportunity to teach residents and students. One of my motivations to practice academic medicine is to influence and shape future doctors, and the practice of medicine in today’s ever-changing healthcare climate. This has led to my roles as Assistant Professor in the Stitch School of Medicine, and Ambulatory Medical Director for Otolaryngology in Trinity Health-Loyola Medicine.

My own practice has been shaped by providing otolaryngology services to patients in Loyola Medicine’s Chicagoland area satellite clinics. I understand the challenges that patients face and make every effort, professionally and personally, to ease their concerns and provide excellent, compassionate, and comprehensive care.

Dr Hurtuk spent the time to listen to me and hear what I was saying and find out what was happening with my daughter. I felt very comfortable with her because she explained to me what was going on and what her recommendations were for my daughter to help her. We are scheduled for surgery this month.
