About
Dr. James Lau has been a general surgeon for near twenty years and is fellowship trained in minimally invasive and weight loss surgery. He has practiced in the US Air Force, in Las Vegas for the University of Nevada, and most recently at Stanford Health Care. He performs most abdominal surgeries through small incisions (laparoscopically and robotically). Some common conditions that he performs surgeries for are gallbladder disease, esophageal reflux, acute appendicitis, groin and abdominal hernias, and obesity. He received his medical degree from and performed his surgery internship at the Stritch School of Medicine at Loyola University Chicago. His surgery residency was completed at Indiana University. He earned a fellowship in Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery at Stanford. He is heavily involved teaching the future generation of physicians and surgeons the importance of selfless comprehensive medical and surgical care of patients.
