Dentistry
Loyola Medicine’s full-service Oral Health Center provides consultation and treatment for a broad range of dental needs, as well as routine care and cleaning. Loyola’s dentists are experts in their field and provide the most advanced care available to all patients.
Preventive Care
Preventive dental care is important for your overall health. Loyola’s Oral Health Center provides comprehensive preventive care for your teeth and gums. Many health conditions, including pregnancy, can affect your oral health, for which special care may be needed. Your Loyola dentist can help you care for your teeth in health, as well as during times of illness or medical treatment. Good dental hygiene involves more than just brushing; eating a healthy diet, not smoking and having regular dental cleanings are important for your overall health.
Loyola’s preventive care services include:
- Dental cleaning
- Fluoride treatment
- Oral cancer screening
- Oral exam
- Periodontal evaluation
- X-rays
Cosmetic Dentistry
Loyola’s Oral Health Center also offers many options to patients who have cosmetic dental concerns. We understand that your teeth are an important part of your overall appearance. For patients who have stained, chipped or misshapen teeth, improvements are available and can have a significant impact on your appearance and confidence. Loyola offers the following treatments to enhance your smile:
- Color restorations (fillings)
- Enamel shaping
- Veneers
- Whitening
Dental Implants
If you have lost teeth due to tooth decay, periodontitis (gum disease) or an accident, your Loyola dentist may suggest dental implants that look and feel very similar to your natural teeth. Dental implants are modeled after the color, shape and bite of your own teeth. They are rooted to your jawbone, which provides benefits that include permanence, ease of speaking and improved oral hygiene and comfort as compared to other options such as bridges or dentures.
Pediatric Dentistry
Loyola’s Oral Health Center is pleased to care for our youngest patients, including infants, children and adolescents. We teach children how to care for their teeth and educate parents on how to foster healthy oral habits. We offer general exams and cleanings to our pediatric patients in a gentle, comfortable environment.
Special Needs Children and Adults
Sometimes special needs children and adults cannot endure certain dental procedures and must be sedated for treatment. Loyola's Oral Health Center provides expert care for patients with special needs.
Restorative Dentistry
For patients who have damaged, decayed or missing teeth, Loyola’s Oral Health Center offers restorative dentistry solutions, including:
- Bridges
- Crowns
- Dentures
- Fillings
- Implants
Periodontal Care
During a periodontal examination at the Loyola Oral Health Center, a dentist will examine your gums for signs of inflammation or bone loss. Dental X-rays will be taken to look at the bone structure that supports your teeth and to detect other problems not visible during your examination. Treatment for periodontal disease may include:
- Deep cleaning
- Medication
- Surgery
Removable Full and Partial Dentures
Your overall confidence and well-being can suffer if all or some of your teeth are missing. The Loyola Oral Health Center can create removable full or partial dentures. These artificial teeth are individually fitted to maximize your comfort. In addition, Loyola offers our patients dental implants and specializes in overdentures and All-on-4 dental implants.
