Pediatric Mobile Health Unit

Mobile Health Unit for Children throughout Chicago and Surrounding Communities

Loyola Medicine’s pediatric mobile health unit is a pediatric doctor’s office on wheels that has served over 113,000 young patients in underprivileged communities in the Chicago area since 1998.

The first of its kind in the Midwest, it provides vital healthcare services to children and young adults, from birth to age 21, who might otherwise not have access to healthcare in their community.

Each weekday, the pediatric mobile health unit travels to schools throughout Chicago and the suburbs to treat medically underserved children. The mobile clinic offers routine physical exams, immunizations, health screenings, educational sessions and lab tests. These physical exams frequently are required for children before they enter pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, sixth grade and ninth grade.

Loyola’s mobile health clinicians also can give your child a sports physical, which is recommended for all grade-school and high-school athletes.

Thanks to the generosity of donors, a new 30-foot mobile unit with two clinic rooms was purchased in October 2014. We are proud to visit 300 sites each year. To schedule a mobile health unit site visit, call 708-216-3299.
