How to Apply & Application Timeline
Candidates applying for training in our accredited Abdominal Transplant Surgery Fellowship Training Program must have satisfactorily completed a residency which satisfies the educational requirements for certification by the American Board of Surgery, American Board of Urology, American Osteopathic Board Certification, or foreign equivalency.
Candidates are selected based on completed application, letters of reference, review of curriculum vitae, and then ranked through SF Match. Applications are submitted to the program director, and select applicants are invited for interview at Loyola Medicine.
If you are interested in applying to the Abdominal Transplant Surgery Fellowship, you must apply and be registered through the SF Match (Program ID 5549).
Please note, for applicants requiring a visa, our institution only sponsors J-1 visas.

Benefits & Salary
Housestaff Benefits
For a list of new housestaff benefit options, fellows can refer to to the Housestaff Benefits booklet which they receive when they start. You can also contact Loyola's Graduate Medical Education Office to learn more.
All Housestaff will have 30 days from your hire date to elect benefits. Please note that you are responsible for making your benefits election in Workday in order to ensure coverage during your training period at Loyola. All trainees are entitled to the benefits outlined in the 2020-2021 Benefits Addendum which is part of the GME Agreement.
You may add, change or drop coverage ONLY during the annual open enrollment period, which is held once a year in the fall unless you have a loss of coverage or a change in family status. Changes in family status include marriage, divorce, birth, adoption or death. A change in coverage status due to loss of coverage or a change in family status must be made within 30 days of the event through the Human Resources office.
Retirement
All Loyola employees are automatically enrolled in a retirement plan. If you would like to opt-out of this 2% payroll deduction, you must contact Transamerica Retirement Consulting within 30 days of your start date.
