Program Overview
Loyola Medicine's division of male pelvic health and genitourinary reconstruction sponsors a one-year fellowship that intends to provide training modern management of male voiding dysfunction, urethral reconstruction and sexual health.
Training will include medical and surgical management of bladder outlet obstruction, urethral stricture disease, artificial urinary sphincters and penile prostheses.
Research has recently focused on sexual health, genitourinary reconstruction, prosthetics and urinary microbiome.
All interested urology residents are encouraged to apply.
Program Education
The fellowship is directed by Ahmer Farooq, MD, with co-directors Chris Gonzalez, MD, (Chairperson, Urology) and Kevin McVary, MD, (Director, Loyola's Men's Health Center).
The fellowship consists of large volumes of operative cases including urethroplasties, penile prostheses, artificial urinary sphincters and minimally invasive procedures for bladder outlet obstruction.
