Neurology COVID Clinic at Loyola Medicine
Overview of the Neurology COVID Clinic
Patients with long-term (greater than six weeks from initial COVID-19 infection) neurological, cognitive and other neuropsychiatric symptoms associated with COVID-19 can receive multidisciplinary evaluation and care at Loyola Medicine’s Neurology COVID Clinic.
While most patients with COVID-19 have mild-to-moderate symptoms and recover at home, a fraction (10-30%) have lingering symptoms following COVID-19 infection and as a result many of these individuals are unable to return to work and suffer economic stressors.
The clinic is led by José Biller, MD, professor and chair, department of neurology, Loyola University Medical Center and Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine.
In addition to Dr. Biller, the Loyola Neurology COVID Clinic features the expertise of Loyola's neurologists including Eugene Schnitzler, MD (for pediatric post-COVID patients). The clinic will refer patients to other specialists as needed.
