Hearing Center

Loyola Medicine's Hearing Center offers an experienced team of doctors and staff and a full range of services and progressive therapy to treat neonatal, pediatric and adult patients suffering from hearing loss.

Our doctors investigate the latest innovative procedures to offer more effective treatments. Technologies for treating hearing loss are advancing rapidly, and Loyola doctors have many options for patients beyond the traditional hearing aid.

A hearing evaluation may be scheduled following examination by a primary care physician or an ear, nose and throat specialist (otolaryngologist).

Based on the results, a conventional, programmable or digital hearing aid or one of the latest implantable hearing aids may be recommended. Surgical therapy may be an appropriate approach once all nonsurgical therapies have been exhausted.

The Hearing Center provides a high level of quality care by board-certified otolaryngologists, audiologists, skilled nurses and caring staff. Both the physical and emotional needs of the patient are addressed. Office-based options include:

  • Intratympanic therapy for sudden sensorineural hearing loss
  • Management of the chronic draining ear
  • Tympanostomy tubes, ear tubes, or pressure equalization tubes

Surgical options include:

Loyola’s audiology team is recognized for providing the most advanced treatments available. Your Loyola doctor will work with you to determine the best course of treatment for your hearing loss.
