Endometrial Biopsy

What Is Endometrial Biopsy?

In an endometrial biopsy, tissue is removed from the lining of the uterus (endometrium) in order to diagnose abnormalities in cells or variations in hormone levels.

This procedure is performed to determine if you have a uterine infection, endometrial cancer or endometriosis. You should not have this procedure if you are pregnant as it can lead to miscarriage.
