Current Residents & Graduates
Loyola University Medical Center's campus is located approximately 10 miles west of downtown Chicago. Our residents have the opportunity to live within the city or in a neighboring suburb.
Several residents live in the western suburbs including Oak Park, River Forest and Forest Park. These locations offer a shorter commute while still allowing for easy access to downtown via highway or train. Their excellent school systems, tree-lined streets, and laid-back atmosphere make them appealing places for residents to live while still offering a mix of restaurants, shops and cafes in their own communities.
Many of our residents choose to live within the city of Chicago, most notably in the West Loop and South Loop as these are most accessible to I-290 (Eisenhower Expressway). These neighborhoods are approximately 25-40 minutes from the medical campus by car.
When our residents are not busy studying or taking care of patients, they have the opportunity to explore all that Chicagoland has to offer. Chicago is an international destination filled with world-class museums, sporting events, concert venues and shopping districts. Located on the shores of Lake Michigan and built around the Chicago River, our residents can enjoy several urban beaches, a newly revamped river walk and the famous architectural boat tour. Chicago is also home to many Michelin-star restaurants and an incredible local food scene!
