Why did you choose radiology? Radiology is the perfect combination of physics, anatomy, and technology; all things that I was interested in during undergraduate and medical school. I didn’t know how well they combined until a serendipitous third year rotation in the reading room and the rest was history! Radiology allows me to be a diagnostician across all specialties and diseases. There are endless puzzles and new pathologies to learn—every day is interesting. After residency, there are also so many different fellowships including procedural fields meaning radiology is customizable to a degree that most medical specialties are not.
Why Loyola? I’m a Rambler at heart! I went to Loyola for Undergraduate, Loyola MacNeal for intern year, and now have the opportunity to study at LUMC for residency which has always been a goal. Growing up in Chicago and having family in the area, I knew it was the best fit to stay local. Of the local hospitals, Loyola is a major academic center with abundant pathology, fewer fellows meaning more studies to read, and super friendly and welcoming residents/faculty making it an easy choice.

Why did you choose radiology? I chose radiology as a specialty that will allow me to significantly impact patient care, gain exposure and expertise within all medical specialties, and sit at the forefront of one of the most evolving fields of medicine. I recall back to my undergraduate physics course when I first learned about MRIs. I was amazed at our ability to create a window into a patient’s body. This early interest in medical imaging flourished throughout medical school as I came to appreciate the power of imaging in diagnosis and treatment. Radiology represents a unique and elegant fusion of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and cutting-edge technology.
Why Loyola? I came to fall in love with Loyola during my time as a medical student. From the world class learning opportunities to the supportive training culture, I knew Loyola would provide me everything I could ask for during my residency.
