Jim and Jane Miller, generous grateful patients and Oak Brook residents, recently established the Jim and Jane Miller Patient Navigation Program at the Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center at Loyola Medicine. Mr. and Mrs. Miller’s gift supports the hiring of five full-time navigators to help facilitate patient access to Loyola Medicine’s unique multidisciplinary cancer care.
As passionate advocates for high-quality care for all, Jim and Jane Miller understand that receiving a cancer diagnosis is a life-altering event and navigating the coordination of complex care can be challenging in the best of circumstances. Jim shared "Jane and I are pleased to be able to seed the launch of the patient navigation program at the Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center at Loyola Medicine. We know this program will enhance the coordination of complex care for patients who are experiencing what can be an overwhelming time in their lives and make an important difference to patients, their families, and the dedicated physicians, nurses and technicians at Loyola."
Once fully staffed, the program will include patient navigators focused on breast, gastrointestinal, thoracic oncology, and cancers of head and neck, gynecology, neuro-oncology, and prostate cancer. The Miller Navigators will serve as proactive, comforting partners to our patients while freeing up frontline caregiver time to focus on the clinical aspects of patient care and work to the highest level of their licensure.
Jim and Jane have been patients of Loyola Medicine for over 40 years, continuing to choose Loyola for the outstanding physician and nursing care. We are most grateful for their longstanding generosity and partnership.
