With over 30 years of training fellows, Loyola Medicine's MacNeal Sports Medicine Fellowship program has been a fixture in the Chicago sports medicine community since the beginning of the specialty.

Our graduates live and practice all over the country in every type of sports medicine practice.

Location

Based at MacNeal Hospital, part of Loyola Medicine, just west of Chicago, the MacNeal Sports Medicine Fellowship program immerses fellows in the Chicago sports scene.

Fellows cover athletes at all levels of competition throughout the Chicagoland area, while enjoying all the advantages of living in Chicago.

Extensive Coverage

Fellows act as team and site physicians for collegiate and high school teams as well as several large citywide road races.

We pride ourselves on providing coverage throughout the fellowship year, enuring that our graduates are well prepared to function as a physician at any level of sports coverage.

Nationally Recognized Faculty at Premiere Teaching Sites

Our fellows work with highly respected faculty at established sports medicine practices throughout the city of Chicago.

Fellows have experiences at the University of Chicago, Loyola University Medical Center and the Center for Sports and Performance at MacNeal Hospital.

Sports Medicine Ultrasound

We recognize that competency in ultrasound is important for future sports medicine physicians. Our fellows are exposed to sports medicine ultrasound regularly in clinic, as well as through an organized curriculum.
