Team & Event Coverage
Team Physician Expectations
Fellows in Loyola Medicine's MacNeal Sports Medicine Fellowship program will be expected to:
- Perform pre-participation physicals at professional, collegiate and high school levels
- Serve as the primary team physician for a local high school with a weekly training room and sideline coverage
- Serve as team physician for collegiate athletes with weekly training room and sideline coverage of competitions
- Act as the co-medical director for several half marathons in the Chicago area
Coverage Experiences
Mass Events
Fellows will have the opportunity to cover different large-scale, Chicago-based sporting events including:
- CARA Ready to Run 20 Miler
- Chicago Marathon
- F3 race series
- Loyola University Cross Country Invitational
College Teams
Fellows will have the opportunity to cover different collegiate sports teams including:
- Loyola University Chicago (NCAA Division I)
- Lewis University (NCAA Division II)
- St. Francis Univiverstiy (NAIA)
- Morton College (NJCAA)
High School Teams
Fellows will have the opportunity to cover different Chicago-area high school sports programs including:
- Argo Community High School
- Morton East and West High Schools
- Saint Ignatius College Prep
