Graduates & Alumni

The Department of OB/GYN at Loyola University Medical Center has a proud tradition of educating residents who become leaders in all areas of Obstetrics & Gynecology. A review of the program alumni demonstrates an equal distribution of residents entering fellowship programs, academic medicine as a faculty member or entering private practice. Loyola's OB/GYN faculty have always strived to facilitate the career dreams of our trainees. Many alumni have become actively involved in residency education on a national level, have become residency directors, clerkship directors and ABOG Board examiners, which is a testament to the love of academics that the department faculty pass on to the trainees. Whether a current alumni or a decade or more out of residency, a deep appreciation for their training and the faculty who motivated them to become the best they could be is at the core of their memories of residency. Following are a few recent examples of statements made by alumni regarding their residency training through an anonymous post-graduation survey:

"I think our surgical training is actually better than most. Our providers are so comfortable with laparoscopy and robotic surgery which allows them to teach residents at such a high level and allows us to be much more hands on tranlates into a great surgical experience."
