Research Fellowship/Observership
Brief overview of our radiology research fellowship/observership program:
- We have dedicated sections in chest and abdominal, neuro, IR, MSK, breast, and nuclear medicine. We have state-of-the-art imaging facilities including a 3D lab.
- We have faculties who are interested and currently performing various clinical research projects including artificial intelligence.
- We work in close collaboration with multiple clinical departments, especially in clinical research ventures.
- Our past research fellows have been successful in presenting abstracts at national and international radiology conferences and other clinical department conferences as their research deemed fit. They have also published multiple original research works in reputed journals.
- We have a very congenial work environment for research fellows who have their own workstations at the hospital and flexibility of work hours as needed with prior notice.
- You will be given letters of recommendation for your residency application if you would need them.
- We welcome your research ideas if you want to work them out with our faculty.
Requirements:
- Candidates should have graduated from a U.S. or international medical school.
- Candidates should have passed USMLE Step 1. Passing USMLE Step 2 and ECFMG certification are preferred but not required.
- Prior radiology training would be beneficial but not a requirement. Many of our prior fellows were not radiology trained but did great.
- We expect a long-term commitment, preferably a one-year commitment in this fellowship as it is often necessary to have that time to perform research and publish the results. One-month long fellowships are not feasible.
- International candidates must apply for J1 visas upon selection for the fellowship.
- There will be no remuneration paid to the research fellows, and the fellows should be able to provide documentation of financial support for visa purposes.
- Time spent as a research fellow may count towards the ABR 4-year alternate pathway for foreign trained radiologists; this should be discussed in advance.
We are no longer accepting applications for this academic year (July 2024 to June 2025).The deadline to apply for the academic year 2025-2026 is January 15, 2025.
Interested candidates must submit a letter of interest, CV, USMLE results, TOEFL/OET results (if non-US citizen), and picture to:
